Zeligsoft Releases Version 2.0 of Flagship Product
Zeligsoft Component Enabler (CE) supports modeling, validation, and artifact generation of SCA deployments
Gatineau, PQ, Canada, August 16, 2005 — Zeligsoft™, a leading vendor of market-specific embedded software development tools today announced the release of Zeligsoft CE™ (Component Enabler) 2.0, supporting SCA deployment management. With CE 2.0, developers have the tools, approaches and automation they need to guarantee the right deployment or assignment of software components to hardware devices in an SCA Software Defined Radio.
"An SCA radio brings together software applications and a hardware platform," said John Hogg, Chief Technology Officer, Zeligsoft. "Deploying an SCA compliant Software Defined Radio (SDR) is tricky because the assignment of software components to hardware devices is done dynamically, at system initialization time. Development and integration teams have been able to model, validate, generate and test software components and hardware devices separately, but up until now, have not been able to test and control the deployments that could happen during run-time."
Zeligsoft CE 2.0 provides powerful automation to represent, validate, calculate and enforce deployments in fielded systems. For example, CE can compute a set of all potential deployments from which a developer can select a sub-set of optimal deployments to be modeled, verified and enforced. The integrated workflow functionality of CE 2.0 allows the system designer to manage deployments from the beginning, reducing project risk and improving software quality.
In addition to deployment management, CE 2.0 features integration with popular configuration management tools such as Rational ClearCaseTM, scripting interfaces for integration with software build processes, and automatic code generation of SCA artifacts.
"Component Enabler now covers the complete realm of SCA development," said Francis Bordeleau, President, Zeligsoft. "Customers can reverse engineer existing components, forward engineer new components, model their applications, platforms and deployments, generate SCA code and documentation for these and enforce their fully validated SCA deployments in the field."
The winning embedded systems providers will be those who adopt best-in-class tools and ensure that domain specific software aspects are part of an iterative and systematic development process. Zeligsoft Component Enabler is proven to accelerate time to market and improve software quality of SCA systems. Now, with CE 2.0, designers can model and validate SCA compliance for deployments at multiple stages of the development process, reducing risk, saving time, and ensuring the reliability of fielded systems.
