Zeligsoft Attains Ubiquitous Status for Software Defined Radio Development
Defense integrators standardize on Zeligsoft Component Enabler (CE) and component-based code generation
Vienna, VA, February 21, 2007 — At the 2007 Software Radio Summit, Zeligsoft™, a leading vendor of market-specific embedded software development tools, today announced that its Software Defined Radio (SDR) tool suite has been so widely adopted that is has now become the de facto standard for SDR development.
“We are proud that our solution is making a substantial contribution to the world’s most strategic radio communication and networking programs,” said Francis Bordeleau, CEO, Zeligsoft. “We introduced the first industrial grade tool to this market, and we continue to apply advanced technology in rapid response to our customers’ requirements.”
Zeligsoft’s SDR tooling solution has benefited projects and programs including JTRS Ground Mobile Radio (GMR), JTRS Handheld, Manpack and Small Form-fit (HMS), JTRS Enhanced Multi-Band, Inter/Intra Team Radio (JEM), Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T), Navy Multi-band Terminal (NMT), and Joint Strike Fighter (JSF). Organizations supplying these programs include BAE, Boeing, General Dynamics, Harris, L-3 Communications, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, Rockwell Collins and Thales.
Contributing to Zeligsoft’s wide adoption is its adaptability. Zeligsoft CE™ is proven to work with over 15 SCA Core Frameworks¹ and boasts support for hundreds of SDR integrations made up of SCA Core Framework, Object Request Broker (ORB), Real Time Operating System (RTOS) and SDR hardware platform. This means that whatever the underlying platform and run-time environment, Zeligsoft CE can be used to accelerate projects and significantly reduce development risk. CE’s adaptability is especially beneficial when platforms and run-time environments change as the project life-cycle progresses.
"As part of our system engineering and project management services we evaluate tools and software for SDR development," said Dr. David Murotake, President and Founder, SCA Technica. "Zeligsoft led the field introducing SCA waveform development tools and component code generation, and their product is an example of an excellent, well-designed and mature software tool suite that greatly simplifies the design, coding and integration of SCA compatible software. We not only use it for our own projects, we also recommend these tools to our clients."
Zeligsoft Code Generator continues to prove itself with an ever-increasing number of SDR operating environments, making Zeligsoft the leading provider of component-based code generation for the SDR market. Code generation has saved JTRS contractors significant development time at multiple stages in the development process.
"Many of our customers like the Zeligsoft solution because it provides an open and flexible environment for SDR product development," said Joe Jacob, Senior VP Sales and Marketing, Objective Interface Systems. "Integrators can trust the tooling solution to adapt to different radio environments. Zeligsoft is also tightly partnered with Objective Interface and other SDR ecosystem members to provide integrated training and technical support for customers."
Zeligsoft assumes ownership of the support structure for its tooling solution operating within an SCA-based SDR ecosystem. Customers make a single support call to Zeligsoft who, with their deep expertise, work with their many SDR partners including Green Hills Software, Harris Corporation, Mercury Computer Systems, OIS, Spectrum Signal Processing, Telelogic and Wind River, for a swift resolution.
“Zeligsoft CE waveform models have a seemingly ubiquitous status throughout the defense integrator community,” said Kamal Krishnapillai, VP Sales and Marketing, Zeligsoft. “Sharing CE waveform models between prime contractors and their subcontracted teams has proven to be an effective way of exchanging detailed information about the waveform so that it can be more readily ported to, and run on, multiple JTRS radio terminals.”
Zeligsoft CE, Code Generator, SDR Development Suite, and SCA Test are being exhibited at the 2007 IDGA Software Radio Summit taking place February 21st-22nd at the Sheraton Premier at Tysons Corner, Vienna, Virginia.
