Redding brings wealth of embedded software development and automation experience to leading tool vendor's executive

Gatineau, PQ, December 11, 2007 — Zeligsoft™, a leading vendor of software development tools to the embedded computing industry, today announced the appointment of Simon Redding to the position of Vice President, Product Development. Simon is the most recent addition to Zeligsoft’s highly qualified management team, which is being carefully built to create innovative tooling solutions that meet the needs of the most demanding embedded software developers in the world. In this strategic role, Simon will lead Zeligsoft’s development team and oversee the rollout of the industry’s first software development environment for multicore and multiprocessor systems.

With twenty years in the embedded software industry, as both a tool user and a tool designer, Simon possesses deep technical proficiency, domain experience and passion that will help advance Zeligsoft’s ultimate aim — enabling customers to rapidly adapt their application software to continuously changing platforms. Zeligsoft’s solution combines deep knowledge of its customer’s domain and a clear understanding of the gaps within the current embedded tooling ecosystem. This insight, coupled with patent-pending, platform-aware code generation technology and the ability to extend the tool to benefit specific platforms, has resulted in a first-of-its-kind development tool designed to meet the unique needs of the embedded developer targeting advanced multicore and multiprocessor systems.

Prior to joining Zeligsoft, Simon spent 4 years at ObjecTime and Rational Software where he held responsibility for the code generation components for the industry standard Rose and Rose RealTime UML-based modeling tools. Most recently, Simon held roles of increasing responsibility at Innovance Networks and JDS Uniphase developing advanced optical and photonic products for networking, telecommunications, and test and measurement, during which he sat on the customer side of the table as a purchaser of the latest embedded software tools — a perspective that will serve Zeligsoft’s customers very well.
