Zeligsoft announces the release of Zeligsoft CE 1.2 for developers of SCA-based applications
Zeligsoft CE 1.2 extends the functionality of Waveform Builder with addition of reverse engineering capability
Gatineau, QC, November 15, 2004 — Today Zeligsoft™, a leading vendor of tools which enable the design, deployment and configuration of component-based software, announced the release of Zeligsoft CE™ (Component Enabler) 1.2.
Zeligsoft CE, an advanced software development tool for projects targeting the Software Communications Architecture (SCA), was initially released in June 2004 as Waveform Builder 1.0. It has been rapidly adopted by leading systems integrators and developers building products for the Department of Defence, who led the development of the SCA standard. This re-branding of the product is in recognition that while the tool was originally conceived to support the needs of the SDR development community, it is widely applicable (to build waveform applications, platforms, or any other SCA-based applications) and is attracting great interest for use in other component-based applications within the Military and Aerospace verticals.
"Zeligsoft Waveform Builder™ has quickly established itself as a valuable element of the SCA development tool chain," says John Hogg, CTO and VP Product Development for Zeligsoft. "We have been listening carefully to our customers' needs and are pleased to announce the availability of this new product release. By adding support for the reverse engineering of SCA compliant XML descriptors, we extend the utility of Zeligsoft CE to prospects with existing SCA-based applications, who with a push of a button can visualize their component-based designs. Furthermore, this capability allows our customers to work more productively with partners who have not yet adopted Zeligsoft CE. The capability also provides clear benefit to validation bodies such as JTEL and JTRS, enabling them to automate the compliancy validation of SCA-based components."
"This new release sends a very positive signal to our existing customers and to the lead adopters of the SCA within the Software Defined Radio community" says Francis Bordeleau, President and CEO of Zeligsoft. "We're also excited by the strong interest in Zeligsoft and the SCA beyond SDR. It's very beneficial to existing users. The broadening of interest in adopting the SCA means that tool vendors such as Zeligsoft and our partners can increase development investment in this area, which will naturally lead to a further strengthening in the capabilities available to all customers."
Existing Zeligsoft customers will have seamless access to these new capabilities. CE 1.2 is fully backwards compatible with Waveform Builder 1.0 and is available to all customers as part of standard maintenance.
