Component-based development for embedded systems

This module provides a high-level introduction to component-based software development, and deployment-aware code generation. This module is ideal for project managers, developers, or testers who need an understanding of the concepts behind component- based development, but do not need to be aware of the low-level details. This module covers:

1) Component-based design for embedded systems

  • Component-based software design
  • Encapsulation and de-coupling
  • System-centric view platform modeling
  • Deployment and configuration of applications to platform

2) Component-based software development

  • Functional versus communication code
  • Platform independence

3) Deployment aware generation

  • Generate service access and communication code based on deployment

After completing this module course, participants will be well versed in component-based software development for embedded systems and will be able to participate fully in discussions with their team members.
