XML validation
Many SCA-based Software Defined Radio projects have existing, manually-authored XML that needs to be validated. These projects are frequently at the end of their development cycle. Validating the XML by hand, however, requires time and effort. It is expensive, error-prone and limited.  Even the most meticulous developer will have severe difficulty verifying large XML descriptor files that contain many cross-references involving obscure tag names and so forth.

Without SCA validation, incorrect XML can lead to rejection during the certification process, as well as serious, potentially dangerous, runtime problems. It can also lead to problems when the components are re-used in other projects. Examples of frequently encountered errors are ports with wrong names, ports with wrong interfaces and ports that are not connected at all.
